I included this serum in my skin care routine at the beginning of this summer because I wanted to try it. Moreover, I thought that I should stop using  the pure vitamin C, which I find irritating and dehydrating especially for the hot Greek summers. I had read its composition and I hand found it interesting. I was right.

This serum is made of 94% natural ingredients and targets dark spots and dull skin. The formula is unscented and non-comedogenic. It is suitable for all skin types even the more sensitive.

Regarding the ingredients of the serum, it contains:

Mela Technology, 20% Vitamin C complex and Niacinamide.

Mela technology applies to formulas created to address dark spots, hyperpigmentation and dull skin. This type of technology targets age spots, dark spots and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation in order to restore radiance and uniformity to the skin.

A more detailed analysis of the ingredients:

Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, a stable oil-soluble derivative of Vitamin C. Has antioxidant properties, protecting the skin from free radicals and environmental aggressors such as UV radiation and pollution.

Diminishes dark spots.

May enhance collagen synthesis.

Niacinamide, for dark spots, ceramides production and potential antiaging properties.

Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid  in low concentration, both of them AHAs (ALPHA-HYDROXY ACIDs)  can cause cell turnover while at the same time hydrate the skin.

Glycerin, a humectant

Squalane, a naturally derived ingredient with moisturizing properties.

Glycyrrhetinic Acid, obtained by the licorice root extract, has anti-inflammatory properties.

Jojoba esters with emollient properties.

Sunflower Seed Wax (Helianthus Annuus Seed Cera), also an emollient

Pea Extract (Pisum Sativum Extract) has also proved anti-dark spots properties

Tocopherol (Vitamin E) which is an antioxidant.

SERUM EFFECTIVENESS

I am impressed by this serum. I’ve been using it for a little over a month and my skin has already brightened and looks more radiant.

According to the brand, the serum should be used twice a day but I use it only in the morning. My night routine consists of growth factors and peptides serums and I don’t want to render the serums ineffective.

The URIAGE DEPIDERM serum is undeniably effective.What I like in this serum is the fact that it contains ingredients with moisturizing and emollient properties. It doesn’t cause discomfort to my skin. My skin got a more even complexion and it is more vibrant. I highly recommend it.
