When it comes to skincare, hydration is the key step. Hydrated skin looks plumper, more vibrant, has more elasticity and is protected against environmental stressors.

Here are some creams that I have tried and found to be effective. All products have been purchased by me .

BIODERMA

Hydrabio  SPF 30 Perfecteur

It encourages the skin to reactivate its natural hydration abilities by stimulating the production of aquaporins, small protein membranes that ease the circulation of the water. They regulate the water balance. The active substances of the Aquagénium™ patent deeply penetrate the skin.

Contains Glycerin, Rhamnose, Mannitol, Xylitol that are humectants, dimethicone (occlusive and emollient) as well as other emollients, tocopherol for its antioxidant action and niacinamide.

Has also UV filters for protection against sun damage.

Avobenzone, protects against UVA, is an unstable filter but in the formula is stabilized by the Octocrylene. The last one can also be used to provide water resistance. It is generally considered safe but if you know that you have sensitivity to it, then it is not for you. Octisalate is another filter used in the composition which is also considered safe. Finally Ensulizole a filter for UVB protection, photostable and useful to provide stability to other filters, like avobenzone.

Arginin, an amino-acid, present in the skin and acting as a building block for the collagen. The formula has also salicylic acid.

Immediately after application, the skin gets a boost of radiance. The texture is smooth and the cream easily penetrates the skin. I am very satisfied by the performance of this cream. My skin is moisturized and gets a more even tone.

AVÈNE

HYDRANCE – Hydrating Cream Rich texture

It has a smooth texture, moisturizes and softens the skin. It is not sticky.

Contains Avène Thermal Spring Water, glycerin (humectant), Cohederm a patented hydrating complex with micro-reservoirs of water.

Dimethicone with both occlusive and emollient action, a commonly used silicone that gives shine and makes the skin soft. It temporarily fills fine lines and wrinkles giving a smoother appearance to the skin.

Has also Shea butter an emollient, Caprylic/Capric triglyceride that is an occlusive and an emollient.

The fragrance is discreet and I don’t find it irritating.

AVÈNE

HYDRANCE Hydrating Cream Light texture

I think that the light texture, emulsion, is a better solution before applying makeup. Otherwise, if you choose the rich texture, make sure to leave time before applying your foundation.
